YOUTH ACTION WILTSHIRE CHARITY POLO DAY

SUNDAY 8TH JUNE 2008

Youth Action Wiltshire make a welcome return to the Beaufort Polo Club following their charity event in 2006 that raised over £22,000 for the local charity that has HRH The Duchess of Cornwall as their Patron. The proceeds from the day went towards YAW's 'Get Kicking' and ‘Healthy Eating' initiatives.

240 guests enjoyed a Champagne reception and gourmet 3 course lunch, before being treated to a thrilling match which saw England’s Satnam Dhillon lead La Goldrina to victory 9 ½ - 9 against a Laird team.

ABOUT YOUTH ACTION WILTSHIRE:

Youth Action Wiltshire support and develop voluntary youth clubs and projects, through a programme of club visits, regular youth leaders forums, and bi-monthly newsletters. They provide information, training and workshops on a variety of issues, ranging from roles and responsibilities of a management committee, craft and sports workshops through to fundraising and managing young people.

Through a diverse range of activities and events YAW promotes, encourages and supports participation, enabling further development of young people in sport or a creative activity with the possibility of representing their county at a regional or national level.Some of the national and regional events include:
